CLUB RIDES

Q. Can I just turn up on a Sunday and join in?

A. Yes, just turn up and introduce yourself.  There are rides of different standards every Sunday.  Whilst the ride leaders will generally have planned a route in advance, it will be atapted to suit the ability of the riders who turn up on the day.

Please be aware that occasionally we have longer rides that are based around various groups all aiming to get to the same destination (Cafe stop).  This is achieved by some of the members travelling part of the way by car.  These events, know as ‘Park and Ride’, can be seen in the ‘Club Ride Calendar‘ and normally involve the riders who meet a Preston college setting off at 8am.

Q. Where do the club rides start?

A. They start at Preston College, St Vincents Road, Fulwood. PR2 8UR.  Every Sunday at 9:00 am.

Q. How fit do I have to be?

A. There are rides catering for most standards, but we would recommend that you are able to ride at least 20 to 30 miles at a reasonable pace (10 to 15 mph).

Q. What type of bike do I need?

A. It does not have to be the latest in cycling technology, but it is recommended that the bike is in good working order, lightweight and serviceable.
