Cafes South of Preston

We’ve listed a number of the cafes our members visit on club runs and when out cycling on their own. This section features the cycling friendly cafes we visit that are situated to the south of our Sunday club ride start point, at Preston College.  If you have any more up to date information, have a suggestion for a cafe that we’ve missed, or if you’re a cafe owner who has a cafe you’d like us to include, please get in touch with us through the Contact Us page.

Vaughns Country Cafe (and information centre)

Vaughns Country Cafe stands on the site of the former Hollinshead Mill, which was demolished by Liverpool corporation in 1903/04. The mill pond is still at the side of the building and is clearly visible. The visitor centre opened in October 1996 with the cafe opening on Boxing Day 2003. The cafe hosts a unique bird watching facility through one way glass and regular visitors include greater spotted woodpeckers, nuthatches chaffinches and many more.
