Ride Routes

We have collected together a few of our rides for you to view and download.  This will hopefully allow you to get an appreciation of where we venture to on our Sunday club runs, Wednesday evening rides and also pick up the courses for some of the clubs events.

If you would like to contribute to this area of our site, please get in touch with the General Secretary.   Your ride could either be one of the club runs you’ve been on (that hasn’t been featured yet) or an interesting solo ride that you’ve been on and would like to share with other club members.  We’d welcome both road rides and off road Mountain bike routes.

If you do have a route that you’d like to be published, ideally it can be accompanied by and appropriate GPS file (GPX, TCX, etc.), but it doesn’t have to be.  As far as the description goes, it does not have to be ‘War and Peace’, just the major points of interest like road numbers, villages and cafes with enough information for somebody with a map to follow.

Ride with GPS

As a club, we use and benefit from a number of the GPS ride tracking apps, software and websites available.  We have clubs or groups on Strava and Garmin Connect respectively and we also currently have a competition running on VeloViewer.  We are working towards these areas being exclusively available to members only, so that the active membership can get the benefits of each of the facilities.

We have also recently (in February 2016) set up a Club account with Ride with GPS.  They have developed and introduced this feature onto their website quite recently.  Our Club’s Ride with GPS account will allow our members to access some the Premium features the website offers from their own “STARTER” account, which is free to set up.  We are also building up a collection of Club routes of all types that you will be able to download and write to your own GPS devices to help you find your way.

The video below helps explain how you’ll be able to use Ride with GPS as a member of our club.

Ride With GPS is a bike route mapping tool for cyclists, runners or anyone wanting an easy yet powerful fitness route planning experience.  Map your ride along bike paths, streets and trails using our easy online route planner.  They offer tools to analyse cycling performance, including graphs of heart rate, cadence, watts (power output from a power meter), speed and elevation gain.  It works with all Garmin Edge bike computers, Forerunner fitness devices and any GPS unit that can export a TCX or GPX file.
