Steady Rides‏ (C rides)

New riders are always welcome to join these rides whether or not they are a member of the club.  The rides take place every Sunday morning from March to November starting and ending at Preston’s College on St Vincent’s Road. Meeting time is usually 9.00am, departing at 9.15.  Most ride leaders post details of their route on the RVCRC Members Facebook page; also in cases of inclement weather notification of a ride cancellation may also be posted there.

The rides are generally between 45 and 55 miles long and will include a café stop for lunch and stops for coffee, cake or ice-cream!  The ride will usually take around 5-6 hours, including stops, with the aim of returning to the college at between 2:00pm and 3:00pm.

If you would like to join a ride you ideally need a road bike, although this is not essential, and you need to be capable of riding 50 miles at an average overall pace of around 12.5 mph. We will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider. The emphasis is on social riding and is not competative.

During the winter months (December, January and February) rides may be organised on an ad-hoc basis – weather dependant – with details posted on the RVCRC Members Facebook page.
