Two Mills Challenge Ride 14th April 2019

Chester & North Wales CTC logoThis popular early season event challenges you to cycle the 50 mile course, and to eat what is a generous lunch, in either 4 or 5 hours. It is not a race.
For those that would like a more sociable pace, there is also a shorter 50km route. Start/finish is Farndon Sports and Social club, Sibbersfield Lane, Farndon, Chester CH3 6NX (5km south of Chester) -Here.

You do not have to be a member of Cycling UK although members enjoy a cheaper entry charge. The route is all on road but not closed ones! Do take the time to enjoy this tour of the wonderful Cheshire and Welsh border lanes.

The entry fee is £14 (or £13 for Cycling UK members).

For that you get:

  • buffet style lunch midway
  • electronic timing
  • plenty of car parking at HQ
  • route sheet in paper form or for GPS devices
  • support vehicle for emergencies

The course follows a figure of 8, looping out to Kinnerton for first half and Overton in the second. The limit is 200 riders. Early entry is a must to guarantee a place. If you are riding the 50 mile course inform the organiser of how fast you plan to complete and if you want to be grouped with team mates. You will be allocated a time slot to start from 9.30 to 10.30am. Faster 4-hour riders and those following the shorter 50km circuit will leave last. More information here Two Mills


Lagan's Foundation Cycle Challenge 28th April 2019

Provisional Start/Finish - Rivington and Blackrod High School. This year there are 3 Routes:

Short Route: Total distance of 47km with 2660ft of incline

£20+ 50p online booking fee.

Standard Route: Total distance 71.13km with 4165ft of incline!

£25 + 50p Online booking fee

Long Route: Total distance 106km with 5409ft of incline

A real test to those taking part in hill challenges or Ironman 2018 or simply would like to go a bit further than the standard route.

£30+ 50p online booking fee

Take part in the exhilarating open cycling challenge around the beautiful countryside of South Lancashire. Tackling the challenging inclines and enjoying the fabulous views to North Wales, Cheshire and Blackpool.

Not for the faint-hearted- BC Grade 2 is not quite true! Part of the route is covered in the Iron Man. If you are training for a bigger event this will be a fantastic challenge to start the spring with.

A masseur will be available at the end of the ride for those aching legs.
