Ribble Valley Juniors Cycling Club

Ribble Valley Junior Cycling Club meets at Walton le Dale Community primary School on saturday mornings and is a thriving Junior Cycle Club with over 75 Youth Members, 21 club coaches and its own committee of Parents and juniors.

Ribble Valley Juniors was one of the first cycling clubs in the North West to achieve Club Mark accreditation in 2008 and has recently been reassessed and reaccredited until 2016.

British Cycling

The home of British Cycling.  They are the nation’s largest cycling organisation and the national governing body for cyclesport.  Their mission in life is to deliver international sporting success, grow and effectively govern cyclesport and inspire and support people to cycle regularly.

CTC: the national cycling charity

CTC has a long and illustrious history, it was founded in 1878 as the Bicycle Touring Club and subsequently re-named the Cyclists’ Touring Club, we are the forerunners of a world wide network of cycling, motoring and tourism organisations, many of whom based their services on CTC’s.

Preston Evening Time Trial Series (PETTS)

A series of time trials organised by Cleveleys Road Club, Garstang CC, Preston Cycling Club, Preston Wheelers, Ribble Valley Cycling Racing Club and Springfield Financial.

Most of the events are open to all riders, with a league for the organising clubs.

Cycling Time Trials

The National Governing Body for Cycling Time Trials in England & Wales.

About 1200 open events are advertised in their handbook each year.  To ride in any of them you need to be a member of a club affiliated to Cycling Time Trials. There are at least that number again of “Club Events” (which are generally not advertised) and if you approach the club promoting one of them you could get a ride on a “come and try it” basis.

NLTTA

NORTH LANCS TIME TRIAL ASSOCIATION.  The NLTTA was formed in 1928 to promote a racing calendar for the member clubs in the North Lancashire area.

Audax UK

Audax United Kingdom is the foremost long-distance cycling association in the UK.  Audax United Kingdom is the internationally recognised long-distance cycling association in the UK.  Usually referred to as Audax UK or AUK, it was established in 1976. AUK oversees the running of long-distance cycling events in the UK, and, using a system of timed checkpoints, validates and records every successful ride.  Audax UK is a non-profit organisation.

SpoCo

Lakes and Lancs SpoCo aims to encourage the use of “Sporting” courses for cycle Time Trials as an alternative to the use of traffic-laden dual-carriageway courses. It does this by means of collating and publishing league tables for selected events, mainly in Cumbria and Lancashire, but also including neighbouring areas.

The events selected are existing events held under CTT rules by existing clubs. They are selected on the basis of the nature of the course used and are held between February and July.
